World Pediatric Surgery Day 2025

The Executive Council of the World Federation of Associations of Pediatric Surgeons announced 7th April as World Pediatric Surgery Day to create awareness for Pediatric Surgery and children requiring surgical treatment.

It was on 7th April 2001 that the landmark Kyoto Declaration of Pediatric Surgery was written that established the mission of the World Federation of Associations of Pediatric Surgeons to focus on the development and education of surgeons serving children, in all parts of the world.

We request you to celebrate the WPS day in your hospital, city, country and make it a truly global event.

This decision was announced in January 2023. This year, 2025, will be the Second WPS Day.

The theme for 2025 is Why is Pediatric Surgery Important? & What does a Pediatric Surgeon feel about his/her career?
