International Guest Scholarship Program

The WOFAPS Foundation International Guest Scholarship supports young paediatric surgeons from Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) to undertake short-term funded clinical observerships at leading paediatric surgical centres in North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa.

Eligible applicants must:

• Be a qualified paediatric surgeon or senior trainee
• Be under 45 years of age at the time of application
• Be a citizen of a Low- or Middle-Income Country (World Bank classification)
• Be registered as a WOFAPS Individual Affiliate — register here before applying
• Not have received a WOFAPS travel grant in the previous three years
• Provide a letter of recommendation from an officer of their national paediatric surgical association or a member of the WOFAPS Executive Committee

Successful recipients will receive a financial grant to contribute towards their travel and living costs during the observership. The value of individual awards will be communicated to successful applicants. Recipients are responsible for their own travel and accommodation arrangements.

All applications must be submitted in full to foundation@wofaps.org. Incomplete applications cannot be considered.
