WOFAPS Statement regarding the Devastating Earthquakes in Syria and Turkey
The World Federation of Associations of Pediatric Surgeons is deeply saddened by the news of the devastating earthquakes on 6 February 2023 that severely affected parts of Turkey and Syria. Thousands of lives have been lost and many more are injured. As the search and rescue operations continue, it is likely that these numbers will increase. The effects of the disaster will be felt for many decades.
WOFAPS urges all nations, member associations, and colleagues to offer humanitarian help by working closely with the organizations based in these countries.
