It is a great honor to welcome you all to the 25th Congress of the Asian Association of Pediatric Surgeons (AAPS2018) for a second time in Dubai – United Arab Emirates from 29 November to 03 December 2018
The UAE has made great strides in the establishment of the discipline of pediatric surgery with particular progress in neonatal surgery and the focus of primary health care centers on maternal and child welfare, school health and health education.
Child mortality rates are very low compared to most developing countries, whilst preventative medicine campaigns have had a major impact on life expectancy.
We have a comprehensive government funded health care system and a rapidly developing private health care sector. Public Hospitals also offer specialized health care services with telemedicine links to major hospitals around the world and state of the art surgical facilities.
Our hosts, The Dubai Health Authority (DHA), operate many hospitals, clinics and health centers, serving as the main healthcare hub in Dubai. Under DHA’S Patronage, Pediatric Surgery has developed in Latifa Hospital as the regions most referred hospital for Pediatric surgery cases.
Since it foundation over 40 years ago, the AAPS has contributed immensely to the profession of pediatric surgeons by promoting research and training as well as encouraging the exchange of knowledge and debates amongst fellow members and colleagues.
That is why we decided to select the theme “Improving Children’s Health, Protecting the Future” for AAPS 2018. Hoping that with your opinions and ideas, will raise the standard of surgical specialties, especially Pediatric Surgery, and that every child receives the best care.
We look forward to the participation of all AAPS members from the 48 Asian countries, The Arab World and many more from the neighboring region, including World Leading Experts, Healthcare Institutions, Research Universities, Pediatric Surgery associations, Members, Surgeon-Scientists, young student-surgeons; Making setting a benchmark for AAPS 2018 as the largest ever gathering of Pediatric Surgery experts in the region and a must attend event in 2018.
You can expect a well-balanced educational curriculum both scientifically and practically, offering highly valuable education to pediatric surgeons, surgical trainees, and surgical nurses, featuring state of the art innovations, discussions and presentations on the core components of Pediatric Surgery, with ample opportunities for networking, collaboration, and sharing of ideas, techniques and tools.

In addition, to the series of conference workshops scheduled between 29 and 30 November,2018. All subjects concerning pediatric surgery will be also welcomed for submission at AAPS2018.
